An exciting preseason talk as Lucas Rodriguez and his baseball team get ready for the new season.

KENT- Lucas Rodriguez and his baseball team Driveline academy, have been putting in lots of hard work during this offseason. The players have been working out almost every day and practice in the field a couple times a week as well.

Despite the team not really doing too good the last four years “we really hope to make this one special” Lucas says. This is Lucas’s first year playing with driveline. He used to play for a different team called Prospect U before he decided to switch. For the last couple months Lucas has been getting to know his new teammates in the weightroom and on the field.

“There’s a couple guys on my team that have some amazing arms” he says. They have 3 or 4 guys on the team that can pitch over 85 which is pretty fast for a junior. The coaches are strict on the kids from what I hear.

But Lucas says, “it’s just tough love”, because he knows they just want to push them to become the best players they can be. But it sounds like this team really has some good talent and just needs to keep practicing, and just slowly get better one by one as a team.

And who knows, if they can really work together and give there all it could sound very promising for the season ahead.
