Life can only get better

Dear 8th-grade Austin,

The past couple of years have had a lot of ups and downs, to say the least. Baseball has not planned out how you wanted to, but you have made a lot of valuable relationships and have never stopped working no matter what happened. School hasn’t been easy, but you are doing your best to turn things around and are going to finish strong. You have learned that people will come and go in your life.

Baseball is your life. You put in hours and hours of work every day and you are slowly starting to see results. You have been able to reach some goals you have made and have been able to become one of the best lifters at topv and have increased your power a lot and are now working towards putting the ball in play more. You have increased your speed after hours and hours of running and are truly becoming a 5-tool player. You cleaned a lot of things in the outfield and look so much better from when you were just starting. You have learned how to take good efficient routes and have gotten so much better. Your arm still hurts but has worked enough so that you can accomplish those throwing goals. Here is the thing though you still haven’t been given a chance. You can only get better from here and you still have a lot more to show what you have accomplished. Even though it’s not much. You get your chance this summer with a team from Indiana and play with a lot of the top players in the country.

School has been a little bit of a struggle, especially in Spanish. If you cannot take that class, you shouldn’t. You should try your best to stay on top of your homework. At O'Dea you make a lot of great friends but also was kind of a struggle. school is overall good.

Your family changes a lot with your older sister going off to college. You make new friends and stay super close with your friends from top v. You meet a bunch of new people through baseball. You go through a lot of ups and downs, but you are going to have to figure out the rest for yourself. You must remember to stay positive, and it can only get better.
