Antone Araujo and the Irish close the Beach winning 22-0 at Lumen Field

SEATTLE - Junior free safety and quarterback Antone Araujo lead the Irish to 22-0 win over Rainier Beach this past Friday at Lumen Field, home of the Seattle Seahawks.
Rainier Beach was solid on both sides of the ball. The Irish came into the game nervous as they knew Beach was a solid team and they were playing at Lumen Field.
"I was actually pretty nervous, not scared but nervous," Araujo said this about the game. Despite his feeling going into the game, he sure played like he had all the nerves out before going in.
Beach has one of the top running backs in the state, Scottre Humphrey, who uses his strength and power to cut through opposing defenses. But against the Irish defense it sure didn't seem that way. Araujo and the Irish held Humphrey to only 38 rushing yards.
The Irish's defense shut him down by doing what they practiced all week. "We wrapped up, did our assignments, linebackers filled the holes, and the safeties did there jobs as well."
In the middle of the second half junior quarterback Luke D'Anna went down with cramping in his right leg. Coaches pulled him out of the game to get treated by the trainer and everyone knew the coaches where going to call Araujo's name to lead the offense.
"I knew they where gonna call my name and I'm glad I got good blocking and a rushing touchdown."
Araujo came in and scored a touchdown taking the Irish up 22-0 to take down Rainier Beach.
At the end of the day it was a great battle between the Irish and Rainier Beach. The Fighting Irish look to take on their rivals Seattle Prep this Friday at West Seattle Stadium.
"The team is feeling good going into week 4 3-0".
