Entering the 2023 High School Basketball Playoff Season, Antone Araujo patiently awaits his return to the basketball team, but is unsure of his future. Araujo hurt his labrum early in the football season, against Seattle Prep.
Even if he's not physically able to be on the court, Araujo plans to be a leader in other ways. " I help the team by being there every practice and being the best leader I can," said Araujo. "sometimes I have pt[Physical Therapy] during practice, but my teammates know that I just want to be on the court as fast as possible."
The Irish recently knocked off Metro-rival, Rainier Beach, and are looking continue that roll into the rest of the state tournament.
O'Dea seems to be hot as of right and nothing but excitement and joy coming from Araujo, and he is proud of his teammates for working hard.
"My treatment is going really well, I get the sling off in a week from tomorrow, and I have started a lot of range of motion exercises," commented Araujo.
But so far, Araujo is staying patient and knows that the process is long, but more importantly, he wants to embrace the process because he thinks he can learn from this injury. No matter the outcome of the season, Araujo continues to work hard and keeps his mindset positive.
