Big Season for Star Center Miles Goodman
Basketball season is finally here, and it's time for Miles Goodman to show off all the work he has put in this off season. He works out every day, practices 5 days a week, and loves working on his craft. He is the definition of hard work pays off.
Goodman is a beast; he is the number 3 center in the whole state of Washington and is only a junior he stands at 6’10 and 210lbs. He is the starting center for the Irish basketball team which isn’t always the easiest place to fit. Having the number 1 draft pick Paolo Banchero as the starting center for the Irish only 2 years ago makes Goodman fill some big shoes.
Starting at a young age Goodman knew from the jump that he wanted to focus on basketball because he knew he could be great. His father is the one who introduced him into the game of basketball, as a player himself Goodman’s father inspired him to stick with basketball and become the best player he can be, “Watching my dad play when I was younger inspired me to keep going with basketball.”
The O’Dea basketball is looking good this year, they made it to the championship game this fall in their season opener tournament. The team is solid all around and has a good core starting with the leadership within the team. Each player has visions of making it to state and wining that title, “I see the team going to state and winning that championship.”
Goodman has many goals this year for himself and the team. His goals consists becoming a better payer mentally and physically and also on and off the court. He hopes to lead the team with his voice and his game to get as far as they can this season, “I want to become a leader on and off the court, and working to get 1st team all-metro.”
As a junior in High School Goodman holds University of Washington, San Diego State, and University of Montana. He is a 3 star basketball recruit, and loves the offers that keep on coming in. He was very sure about his recruitment being open still and had this to say about it, “I still have a whole year left so im not thinking hard of committing but staying home is an option.”
