Carter Gribble and the O’Dea Golf Team secures the win against Lakeside, 139-93

Updated: Sep 28, 2022

SEATTLE – After a slow but interesting start, O'Dea defeated Lakeside on Tuesday afternoon 139-93. Led by senior Brady Foster and junior Carter Gribble, the team breezed by with this win.

Excitingly enough, senior Brady Anderson came out with something to prove. After shooting a 38, it was easy to see that he was having fun out there on the links.

“He came out firing playing the banana power fade and got the job done, showing tremendous improvement and is a vital part of the team,” stated Gribble.

Anderson is clearly loved by his teammates, and this team chemistry could make this an exciting group to watch over the next few months.

Later in the match there were signs of subtle struggle. “Putts weren’t falling and I was scrambling the whole round. I didn’t have any really bad holes but had no converting shots. Rounds like that you have to play for your team even if you want to give up, you just hope a brother picks you up like Brady did,” Gribble said.

Gribble finished with a 41 while Foster finishing with a 36. Although facing adversity, these men powered through and came out with their third win on the year.

The O'Dea Irish play Cleveland High School next and look to improve upon what they did against Lakeside.
