Dual Sport Athlete Zach Proctor

SEATTLE – Is Zach Proctor a football player or a baseball player? He brings a lot to the table and knows how to put his talents to the test playing 2 sports in this year. Proctor plays football half the year and baseball for the other half for O’Dea High School. This spring Proctor is participating in baseball, playing on varsity as a first baseman and designated hitter. Proctor believes what he brings to the team can lead them to a metro and state championship.

Proctor has a spot on the team that is different than the others. He pays mostly designated hitter, which he doesn’t do a whole lot, but take at bat’s for the pitchers or someone who is in a slump. Players on the team say he brings a great attitude with every game that comes.

“I love being a part of the team, and making sure everyone is on the same page…I am always happy on the baseball field and love cheering on my teammates.”

Proctor does his best to split time with football and baseball. He does his best training during the week for the sport he is currently a part of. He spends his weekends working on the sport he isn’t currently playing. For baseball he goes to the cages and hits for hours, he lifts with the strength trainer Coach Paynter, and for football on the weekend he attends Gridiron Sports trainings, as well as going to the field with his friends.

“I do my best to split my time between both sports, I feel I do a good job with it and sometimes its a lot but that’s just what happens when it comes to playing multiple sports.”

Going on to after high school Proctor does not hope to play baseball but would love to attend a college that will let him do football, and if they let him play baseball as well then that’s everything he needs in one school.
