Eilis Tesfai is Able to Bring His Love For Videogames at Home to O’Dea and be One of the Successes
Eilis Tesfai attended O'Dea knowing they had a strong brotherhood, but he didn't realize he was going to take part in it so much with his elite gaming skills on the O'Dea Esports Team and build relationships he would cherish for his entire O''Dea career.
Tesfai has been playing video games for almost all his life and he has had the opportunity to find a hobby he can do forever.
“I've been playing video games ever since I was six. I wanted to get a 3ds to play Pokémon since all my friends got one. And when I did, I knew that it was what I wanted to do,” said Tesfai.
The Esports Club led by Mr. Marenco was an opportunity Tesfai saw that would bring him enjoyment and take his skills to the next level against other teams across the country. Tesfai views video games as something he loves to do and that he has a lot of passion for.
“I enjoy video games because they're fun. Although they're not like active sports where you have to do something physically active, games still give you the satisfaction, or anger, of winning and losing. Especially in the competitive scene, where you have to play against other skilled players,” says Tesfai.
Since joining the Esports Club Tesfai has friends also part of the team that builds that brotherhood bond to be stronger.
“What makes the Esports Club enjoyable is the people there. Not just because of the games, but because there are people I can connect with and have a good time with. They're all unique in their own way and spending time with them makes the Esports team what it is,” said Tesfai.
The bond from the O’Dea brotherhood comes in many ways and Tesfai has been taking control of that aspect of O’Dea and has built himself around a great group of teammates on the Esports team.
