How Has the O’Dea Soccer Team Faired Following a Disappointing 2020-21 Season? By Owen Raup
SEATTLE-After finishing the season with a 3-4-1 record last year, the first losing season since the 2014-15 team went 7-9-3, and losing long time head coach Kevin Fieser, it is fair to say that there were some reasonable doubts going into the 2021-22 Soccer season.
It is also fair to say that this year's team has flushed out that doubt and reminded us how talented O’Dea’s Soccer program is.
With a current record of 9-5-2, and a 4th place ranking in the 3A Metro-Sound Division, O’Dea has officially gone back to their winning ways.
In a senior heavy roster with leadership coming from seniors like Saverio Desimone and Keegan Fox, O’Dea has withstood the competitive 3A Metro-Sound Division, enjoying an overall win percentage of .625&, paired with 39 goals scored and a 13 goal, goal differential.
It is stats like these that have carried them to a State Playoff berth against 10-3-2 Auburn Riverside, on May 15, 2022, at 7:00 PM in Memorial Stadium
In a year as disappointing as this one when it comes to O’Dea sports, a win at State would not only further reinstate O’Dea’s Soccer dominance, more importantly it would redefine 2022 as a successful year for O’Dea athletics.
