Jason Brown Dominates as O’Dea Crushes Edmonds-Woodway 56-20

SEATTLE – On a night where many guys within the O’Dea football team knew there was something on the line, they delivered. The Irish delivered a scoring bonanza, dropping a season high 56 points on an Edmonds-Woodway team that appeared no match. Running back Jason Brown went on a rushing tear scoring multiple touchdowns on the ground and in the air, and even returned one back on special teams in the 4th quarter. Junior quarterback Luke Danna even got in on some of the scoring action, rushing for two touchdowns, once on a bootleg in the first quarter and the other on a scramble drill when he motored over two Woodway defenders into the end zone.

With the game being dominant as it was, the Irish are now off to state where things will only get harder from here on out. They take on the Peninsula Seahawks this Friday at Memorial Stadium in the first round of the state playoffs. Unlike the Irish, the Seahawks found their way into state squeaking out an overtime win against 22nd seeded Arlington. Despite the sloppy performance, the Seahawks can’t be taken lightly. Overall, they have an 8-2 record on the year and finished 2nd in their conference, only behind the Yelm Tornadoes who ended up as the #1 overall seed in 3A, so they have an impressive resume, nonetheless.

The Irish just have to stick what they’ve been doing all year long which has given them success which is to play their own game of football.
