Loads Of Personal Records As The Irish Put Out A Brilliant Performance
SEATTLE- Another week and the Irish yet again performs strongly in their latest track meet at Chief Sealth High School.
They were up against strong metro opponents including Chief Sealth, Ballard, Cleveland, Eastside Catholic, Garfield, and Rainier Beach.
It was full of skilled athletes and the competition was tough and winning wasn’t easy.
The Irish once again had a successful track meet with the majority of the athletes hitting personal bests.
Sophomore runner Sage Salopek put out a good performance in the 100-meter dash finishing eleventh place with a personal record of 11.64.
Junior Seku Sanders participated in the 800-meter run and finished strong in seventh place with a personal record of 1:58.62.
Head coach Vince Butorac will be pleased with how his runners performed and how they fought to the end.
"I’d say Sage Salopak is definitely a standout this season," said Andrew Tran
In the 4x400 relay the Irish finished third with four athletes participating including Sanders, Xavier Johnson-Mitchell, Justin Le, and Quinten Nyblod.
It was competitive with the top 4 finishers all being separated by a few seconds.
Seniors Andy Budd and Nick Dunley both placed eighth in the high jump and finished with a 5’6.
Senior two sport athlete Amare Jackson placed eighth place in the long jump ending up with a 19’6 personal best.
The Irish keeps on getting better and better every time they step on the track and always want to beat their original scores.
With lots of emerging talents coming through the ranks the Irish will definintly be in good hands in the future.

The next track meet for the Irish is not until April 20,2023 @Nathan Hale, and it’s a perfect time for the athletes to rest up and look back on what they need to work on so they can be at their best for there next oppenents.
