O'Dea Comes Back and Wins After Being Down 13-0 at Halftime
SEATTLE-The O'Dea Fighting Irish completed a comeback victory over the Bothell Cougars 24-13 at Memorial Stadium. Their comeback victory was led by junior running back Jason Brown and junior quarterback Luke Danna.
Freshman offensive guard Kingston Fotualii gave credit to the upperclassmen for the comeback victory.
“It all started with Kyan McDonald being a leader in the locker room getting the team together and making plays".
The O'Dea Fighting Irish had three freshmen playing in the game against the Cougars led by Fotualii.
“It was a big adjustment from 8th grade the game is a lot faster and everyone is stronger and faster.”
The adjustment for the freshmen was significant but they overcame the challenge played a big part in the overcoming victory on Friday.
This O'Dea team has big goals for this season wanting to win a Metro League championship and ultimately a state championship.
“I think we have a good chance to go all the way and it is my goal to win state, not only for me, but for my brothers especially the seniors because it is their last ride,” Fotualii said.
The second half of the game on Friday showed that this team has that potential with their electric offense which can make a big play at any time and their stonewall defense which is able to hold any threat.
