O’Dea golf starts off hot but has a tough schedule ahead
The Irish golf team has had tough matchups to start the season, including a match against the Bishop Blanchet Bears on September 15th. They ended up losing 123-124 for their first loss of the season.
The team is currently 3-1 with big wins over Seattle Prep, Lakeside, and Cleveland in the last couple of weeks. Their next matchup is on 9/30/22 at Jefferson against Roosevelt.
Junior Vaughn Lowe is looking to get his first action this week after not playing the first couple of matches. He has been working hard and is ready to compete.
“Golf is going good. I have been practicing often and I’m getting better. Hopefully, I get to play in a match soon. “
This is Vaughn’s first year on the golf team although he has been playing for fun for most of his life.
He and the rest of the team have been practicing at Jefferson Golf Course since late August. Vaughn has been making a lot of progress and is ready to show it in a match.
They have been working with Coach McLaughlin and Coach O’Neill almost every day.
They are working toward winning districts and making it to state.
