O’Dea Golf leaves Lakeside in the dust
Updated: Sep 23, 2022
O'Dea beat Lakeside at Jefferson Golf Course on Tuesday afternoon. The golf match was a very back and forth one with both teams. There were lots of experienced golfers who played extremely well including junior Carter Gribble and senior Brady Anderson.
O'Dea played very well against Lakeside and proved easily that they were the better team.
Junior JV golfer Fekadu Wakeman is impressed with this team's talent. “I think that we have a really great, strong team. Our putt game is very strong and especially our long shots. We put a lot of work in at practice and stuff and you can really tell that its starting to pay off.”
From what it sounds like the O'Dea Fighting Irish sound very confident this year and are hungry for the wins.
While they are a talented squad, they still have plenty to work on, according to Wakeman.
“As a team I do think we need to work on our chipping and getting it out of those bunkers nice and smoothly. But that’s pretty much it. I just really do think this year is going to be great for us and we just got to keep pushing to get better and giving our 100 percent at practice.”
O’Dea has everything it needs to have a great golf season this year and is looking to go even farther than last.
Look out for the Irish in the Metro League and state.
