O’Dea runs through Blanchet defense

Updated: Sep 23, 2022

SEATTLE - Bishop Blanchet’s defense could not stop O’Dea High School on their path to a 54-10 win on Friday night at west Seattle stadium . The night was long for a Blanchet defense that could not stop junior running back Jason Brown as he cut through their defense early.

Another key element to the win last night for the Irish was their strong force at Offensive line. Junior quarterback Luke Danna put it best. “When those big boys give a push, it leads to scoring for us is.”

These are big some big words of praise from a quarterback that was excellent himself on Friday. He had a great deep shot to junior tight end Tucker Ashcraft. It was thrown straight into his hands at a downward angle that only Ashcraft could catch.

“Coach told us it was another faceless opponent." Danna said, the Irish went into the game not caring about who they were playing, only caring about getting the job done and getting a win.

Danna about who he thought was the stare of the game, and he gave praise to a freshman Offensive linemen Kingston Fotualii. “He made a lot a great play that opened up things for Jason.”

O’Dea’s stout defense also took care of business in only allowing 10 Blanchet points. The defense did not let the Blanchet run game get going. The O’Dea cornerbacks were lights out, not allowing many catches.

It was overall a dominant win for the Irish as they had no trouble running through the Blanchet defensive line. The Irish defense also let nothing get through there stellar secondary. The Irish's next game is Friday night at Lumen Field versus Rainer Beach.
