O’Dea swim looks to rebuild with some new strong freshman
The Irish lost 12 seniors last year, who played big roles on the team. 2 of those seniors had individual state cuts, and they're A relay was made up of 3 seniors.
Some underclassmen look to take on bigger roles. The newcomers are Shea Skarda, Maks Karman, and Nick Behrens are some noticeable sophomores to watch this year.
Nick had a big role last year and was on the 200 freestyle A relay for state as a freshman last year.
Shea has made major strides this summer pulling for state cuts in the 100 breast.
This year they do not have a bunch of freshmen but the freshman they have are very good.
They have freshman August Pierce who is a great club swimmer and will be on A relay for backstroke and possibly freestyle.
Another great freshman is Prentice Sanders who is also a club swimmer and specializes in distance freestyle and butterfly. He will definitely fill the shoes of Owen Weber who was an amazing mid-distance freestyle who graduated last year, and he is in the running for a relay spot on the team.
“Despite the size of the team, we do not lack talent. I believe despite the loss of many seniors, we are still a top 3 metro league team. “ -Jack Skarda
