O’Dea tennis continues to hit hard

SEATTLE-The O’Dea tennis team continues to dominate and it begs the question, will they have what it takes to make it all the way this year?
So far this season the O’Dea tennis team has been playing great.
They did lose two of the four matches so far, but the team doesn’t let it bother them and keeps pushing.
They showed their power especially in their last match against Chief Sealth High School, who they beat 4-1.
Sealth would earn the first point but O’Dea made sure that was the only point they would get. With the conclusion of their last win, it looks like this season will be a great one for the Irish.
O’Dea senior tennis player John Nishimoto said, “This season we have a couple really outstanding players like, Lorenzo Neri and Luke Vecchiet.” Lorenzo is considered “best on the team” by other teammates and is a hard hitter.
Vecchiet is also very talented and has yet to lose a game, so it really looks like this season could be great. Last season the tennis team had lots of great players as well, but still struggled to pull it to the championship.
Although they lost it wasn’t for nothing. The seniors were great leaders for the younger players to look up to, which could be very insparational for them, especially this season.
Nishimoto told me he’s focused on only two things this season strictly, “Winning my matches and helping my teammates so we can win state.”
The O’Dea tennis season should be exciting for the team and Irish fans. So hopefully the team can keep pushing and giving their all to get that trophy.
