SEATTLE- The fighting Irish wrestling team has had a successful season with the team led by senior Jude Santistevan, the team only losed 3 games, in the post season they placed 3rd in the metro league tournament, 7th in the regional tournament, and sent 6 guys to the state tournament.
Although some setbacks occurred with some players getting injured, and some players not cutting the weight, but with the team’s determination they fought to the end and got what they deserved.
A huge bright spot for the wrestling team in the future is that they have a lot of young players on the team, and they will be super handy for the teams successes in the future.
One of the seniors on the team Santistevan has been part of the wrestling team since his freshman year and has been grateful for all he opportunities he has been given in his time on the wrestling team.
“I am still grateful for being part of the team and having great coaches that guided me throughout my four-year career,” said Santistevan
Although not making metros, Santistevan still was working hard even though enduring some setbacks along the way.
“This season was definitely not my best just from having to deal with injures and struggling at tournaments.”
Even though Santistevan has finished his wrestling high school career, he will definitely be proud of what he has done for the team and how he has contributed to the teams successes.
