On senior night, the Irish are able to take of business against Ballard.

SEATTLE- O’Dea took on Ballard high school last night taking home a strong 42-14 victory over Ballard.

Last night was the long-awaited senior night and they did not disappoint. There was a lot more energy at last night as the team was ready to horror their seniors by getting a strong win. Before the game seniors and their parents where able to have a moment of recognition for there devotion to the team.

It seemed as though O’Dea running game could do no wrong as they ran threw a undersized Ballard defense all night. The best part about how good the run game was that it was a unit as a whole that performed well. Jason Brown, star junior running back did not need to have a huge game as fellow running back Christian Winn had a great night for the Irish.

Winn seemed to be on stoppable last night as he easily ran by Ballard all night. He did a great job getting threw the Ballard secondary all night.

On one play, Winn got a run where he seemingly ran the length of the fiend, cutting back avoiding tackles all the way getting the ball within the five-yard line. He was also making a great impact on kick returns going down and making the tackle multiple times.

“Oh my god Bubs (Cristian Winn) had that crazy cut back in the first half that was crazy,” said junior punter Kellen Shaffer after the game

Winn was not the only stand out the other night as the Irish held the Ballard offence to only 18 yard on the ground. The offensive lines dominated a poor Ballard Offence. Junior edge rusher Zach Procter was all over the field not allowing the Ballard Quarterback anytime to pass.

Something that was nice that happened the other night, was a lot of the backups where able to get a good number of touches as the starts came out after the first Quarter. Exactly on senior night it was good to see the seniors that may not touch the field as much get some good plays in before their time on the football team, and at O’Dea.

O’Dea only has one more regular season game left this season. They will take on a very strong Garfield team that will come out fighting. But if the Irish play at the level they played at the other night, they will have no problem taking them down.
