Owen Livingston is kicking his way through O'Dea

Updated: Apr 5, 2023

SEATTLE - A soccer cleat on one foot, and a football cleat on the other. That's been the story of sophomore Owen Livingston in his first two years at O'Dea. That hasn't always been the case though.

Livingston has been playing soccer since he was a little kid, but he only picked up football his freshman year.

This past 2022 football season, Livingston was the starting kicker for the Fighting Irish as a sophomore. Though, on the field he has the manner and maturity of a senior. Which is something not a lot of people can obtain at his age.

During the season, Livingston stepped up big in key games while also having to deal with the pressure that comes along with it.

"Sometimes I can start to feel the heat, but then I remember that pressure is a privilege, so that always brings me back to where I need to be mentally," commented Livingston.

Now in the spring, Livingston brings his success from the gridiron to the pitch.

Owen is currently swinging between junior varsity and varsity, but when his name is called, he expects to dominate and execute.

"I think that being a young guy on the football team helped me mature faster, so when I'm playing soccer, I'm able to lead my teammates the way I was led in football," said Livingston.

Irish fans are eager to see the growth Livingston makes during his time at O'Dea. He's accomplishing so many things early in his career and the sky is the limit for this kid.
