Patrick Galvin an O'Dea baseball star
SEATTLE- 17-Year-old pitcher, Patick Galvin has looked incredible this season on O'Dea's varsity baseball team.
Not only does he just play baseball, he also is a varsity basketball player too. Patrick Galvin is a very talented athlete, and I can't wait to see more of him next year (his senior year).
In fact, he got the chance to explain his come up on how he even got to where he is now. "It all started with my dad" he said. Patrick says that if it weren't for his dad he would not be near as great as he is today.
When Galvin would be 3 years old his dad put him on his first rec team. Galvin instantly fell in love with baseball ever since.
Another major part that played a role was going to mariner games and watching pros play. Galvin said, "it motivated me at such a young age seeing watching the pros.
" Some of his favorite players he even mentioned were Ichiro, Kyle Seager, Felix Hernandez and many more.
Watching these players play definitely encouraged him to be just like them, if not better. As Galvin would grow up, he would progressively get better.
He started to take baseball more serious around 8th grade. With him growing up, he realized high school ball especially at O'Dea was going to be different.
He knew O'Dea was a very competitive school and that lots of kids around the area of Seattle were going there, who he knew were good.
Freshman year would then come, and Galvin was ready for the tryouts. He easily made the team for starting pitcher and the team would go undefeated for the whole season.
For the next 2 seasons, Galvin would make varsity and continue playing as a great O'Dea pitcher. It really is true when people say hard work pays off.
Patrick Galvin as of January 26th, 2023, would commit to Seattle U as a pitcher. Patrick Galvin is definitely an athlete to not sleep on and always keep an eye on.
Because if he keeps playing his hardest and giving it his all, "it's to the league" he says.
