Pignotti and the Irish Strive for Lax Moms and Back-to-Back State Championship
SEATTLE- Dylan “Pig” Pignotti has been a key contributor to the Irish lacrosse team that is coming off a state championship and is looking to help the repeat.
Pignotti transferred to O’Dea ahead of his Sophomore year from Lincoln High School in Wallingford, Seattle, after being one of the top players for the Lynx as a sophomore.
Pignotti stated, “I really loved playing lacrosse at Lincoln and knew a lot of guys on the team. Lacrosse was definitely the best part for me at Lincoln. I left the school because it was a brand-new school with no school spirit or culture up to that point.
O’Dea’s winning culture ultimately drew Pignotti’s eyes and he knew it would be a good fit for his future.
“I have really liked my 2 years at O'Dea. All the people here are nice and I like how everyone is connected threw the brotherhood. I transferred to O'Dea not for lacrosse but because I wanted to go to a school with a good culture and history. I have really loved playing lax at O’Dea. The tread has a great bond and culture that the Lincoln team just didn’t have”, says Pignotti.
Pignotti could not play varsity his first year due to transfer rules but this past season as a junior Pignoti proved to be a huge part of the Irish.
Pignotti stated, “I think I played well this year. I improved a lot so I am excited for next year’s season”.
With all eyes on the Irish this year after winning the state championship last season, they are confident in their abilities regardless of the regular season.
“I Expect us to win state this year. We have a really really deep solid team this year with lots and lots of talent to hopefully we will be able to beet prep [Seattle Prep]”, says Pignotti.
