Updated: Feb 23, 2023
SEATTLE- 6’7 190 pound forward out of O’Dea High School, Miles Clark's senior season is close to an end. His hopes for the post-season are going as planned, He and his team have a bright future and team chemistry leading them to a great position for the post-season.
The Irish basketball team is 17-7 after beating Rainier Beach on Valentines Day 74-58. They have been placed at the 6 seed for the district tournament. They play Bellevue High School this Thursday. Bellevue is the 2 seed in the tournament.
Clark has been playing basketball all his life and is excited to continue his career playing Division 1 basketball at Air Force. He is a big reason why the Irish are favorited to win this upcoming tournament.
Upcoming this week is the Metro Championship tournament. They have a big game against Rainier Beach to get them closer to that Metro title. The team feels good going into the week and they all feel fresh with basketball on their minds.
“Season's going well, We are hoping for a Metro Championship, and then our sights are on state right after.”
There are many things the Irish have to work on one being the turnovers. Limit turnovers and have more team chemistry is something they believe will increase their chances of winning.
“The team is feeling good, but if we want to improve our chances to win, we have to work together and limit the turnovers in close game situations.”
The post-season basketball season is what really matters to everyone. If one lose in a teams season is done but when win you move on. These boys are working day in and day out getting ready to win these games and win this state tournament. They hope to have fun playing the game they love.
“We have an aggressive mindset, we are looking to enjoy ourselves, but now is the time to win so we are going to do everything we can to make that happen.”
At the end of the day, the Irish basketball team has had a great season so far but the only thing that would make it better is the state title.
