Seattle University Has a Versatile Athlete Coming Their Way.

Patrick Galvin is a 6”2 pitcher for the O’Dea Fighting Irish and a versatile athlete. Galvin has been playing baseball his whole life and says he has fallen in love with it before he can remember. Galvin says the reason he plays baseball is because of his father and will try to continue the family’s legacy.

The O’Dea 2022-23 Fighting Irish baseball team holds a 7-7 record before they enter playoffs, and the starting pitcher is stoked for playoffs as they seek to win a championship.

.

Patrick Galvin stands on putting on for Seattle by finishing strong in the 22-23 baseball season and striving to be the best of his ability’s as he prepares to play for his hometown college Seattle University.

Galvin has been playing varsity baseball for the Fighting Irish going on now 2 years. Galvin is an athlete at its finest and has been in the fighting Irish sports program for quite some time. Galvin not only played baseball for the Irish, but he also plays basketball and was swinging on the Irish’s junior varsity and varsity basketball team this past fall.

Galvin played heavy minutes on junior varsity as a sophomore while still playing baseball, and we’re also a huge factor for the team as they relied on his game a lot.

Galvin has been playing basketball growing up as a kid, and once he has basketball a try, he hasn’t left it since as he continues to play for an AAU basketball this spring/summer. I mention that because he is still playing baseball at the same time. If that’s not an athlete for you I'm not sure what is.

Galvin does all this while still maintaining to keep it together in the classroom and maintains a d1 scholarship offer.

Now I must ask Galvin this question if he ever gets tired and exhausted and he said, “I can say it’s not easy, but I know what I’m getting out of this, and the work will pay off”. He also states that he doesn’t just do these activities to just do them, he enjoys it and it’s only making me an better athlete, there are no benefits’’ says, “it’s the fit for me”. His father also inspired him as his father also was a Fighting Irish and won a championship the O’Dea legacy.

That’s a high bar for Galvin for reach but he says he’s up for challenges and says he just wants to make his parents proud.

Patrick will continue this season and finish strong as he will show why Seattle University wants him and will show out for Seattle in a year.

Seattle will love to see Galvin succeed in his senior year. The O’Dea Fighting Irish will finish out this season string and the sports director will love to see Patrick strive in multiple sports next as as he always does and seeks to helps teams win championships.
