Leadership Leads to Rings
Updated: Mar 28, 2023
O’Dea High School's Coach Will Snider has been coaching lacrosse at O'Dea for about four years, but this season feels different. He has a small senior class of only four, and he's determined to give them one last ring before they graduate. However, achieving this goal will require strong leadership and a lot of hard work.
The seniors on the team are crucial to its success. Coach Snider is relying on them to lead by example, set the tone for the rest of the team, and elevate the players around them. Ethan Linsay, Eli Henson, Andrew Koch, and Wade Boyd all have different leadership styles, but they are all equally important.
Linsay is the vocal leader on the team. He's always encouraging his teammates, pushing them to work harder and do better. Hinson and Kock are the silent leaders, who lead by example, working hard in practice and demonstrating a strong work ethic. Boyd is somewhere in between, providing advice and support to his teammates when needed.
One of the challenges that Coach Snider and his team face is the need to encourage the younger players. The seniors are aware of this challenge, and they have taken it upon themselves to help their younger teammates improve their skills. They understand that the team's success depends on everyone playing at their best, and they are doing their part to ensure that everyone is contributing to the team's success.
In a recent game, the team was tied at half, struggling to find their stride. Coach Snider gave the seniors some time at halftime to regroup and refocus. Their leadership skills were on full display as they rallied the team and led them to victory with a much stronger second half.
As the season progresses, the seniors' leadership skills will be more important than ever. Coach Snider is counting on them to continue to lead by example, encouraging and elevating the players around them. He knows that they have the experience and skills to take the team all the way, but it will take hard work and dedication to achieve their goal.
In conclusion, Coach Snider and his seniors are determined to achieve their goal of winning one last championship ring before the seniors' graduate. They understand the importance of strong leadership and are doing their part to lead by example, set the tone for the team, and elevate the players around them. While there will be challenges along the way, Coach Snider is confident that his seniors have the skills and determination to achieve their goal.
