Sports are the way of life at O’Dea
The O’Dea community is all about sports. O’Dea is very well known for a few things and probably the biggest thing is for being very good at sports. That is one of the main reasons a lot of people come into because we are so good at sports. A certain type of people come here because they love their sport so much and they want to be great at it. With a lot of people being similar in their goals, That brings a sense of closeness and it shows by bringing a lot of people together through sports.
The Irish are brought together through sports and that creates what we call brotherhood. Sports bring O'Dea a sense of community and It makes them feel like people are a part of something. Sports are also probably the most important thing at the school to the students. We take pride in our community being good and that makes us closer.
An example of how sports bring the community together is freshman football. People play football to meet new people and make friends. Freshman football is when you make friends and you get to meet Dean. Football is a great example of how people come together through sports at O'Dea through all grades and levels.
My sport this week is track and track brings a lot of different sports together. There are only a few people that do track who just do track so the team is made up of a lot of different sports. This creates a community with new people meeting each other.
“Track helps bring people together and learn from each other” Seku Sanders said.
All the sports at O'Dea bring people together and create a strong community. This creates what we call the brotherhood. The brotherhood is all about having each other back and being there for each other and sports create that. Sports bring people together.
