The Future is Undecided for Quinn White
SEATTLE - For many, they have a main sport they focus on and plan on going to college for. But, for junior lacrosse and football player, Quinn White, his situation is different.
White has been playing these two sports for his entire life, it's almost as if he doesn't know anything other than football and lacrosse. Which one is he going to pick though?
Right now, White is having a successful season as the starting Midfield or "middie" as they call it in Lacrosse. This means that White is valuable on both the offensive side and the defensive side as well. This also requires speed which White has proven he has that extra gear.
Heading into the playoffs, White remembers a similar feeling that he felt when he entered the playoffs for the first time football back in fall.
"A lot of the times, the stuff I learned from playoffs during football season, I'll try to implement that into my game now in lacrosse," said White.
During the fall, White was a All-Metro fullback amongst a very talented team. Ultimately the Irish fell short in the semi-finals, but since that moment it allowed White to mature.
"I know that if I put everything into one sport, I would definitely make it far," commented White, "but, playing two sports allows me to be balanced."
Another aspect White enjoys from engaging in multiple sports is the comradery. Obviously, from football you're going to be around a lot more people, so you're forced to put yourself out there.
Lacrosse has a smaller amount of people, which makes you closer to those around you.
"The guys on the LAX (lacrosse) team are my guys."
"We just went to San Diego together, and that made us super close," added White.
Still he doesn't know which path to follow. White is receiving interest from multiple colleges within both of the sports and that will leave him with a very important decision.
"Which ever path I choose, it'll benefit me in the long run and right now I just want to be in the moment and have fun," stated White.
The Irish community will keep and eye on White to see how he performs in both football and lacrosse.
As for White, he will continue to give his all and lead his teammates to victory.
