The Irish Face off Against Ferndale to hit off their State Championship Run

With a rough start to their season, O’Dea has brought momentum towards to the end of their season that no one can compare to.

Before entering the playoffs O’Dea finished their last 13 games with a 10-3 record after starting off with a 1-5 record. The Irish finished with a 12-9 record to end their regular season. During the Metro playoffs, they beat Bishop Blanchet to advance to the State Tournament and will begin their state-run.

“The O'Dea baseball team is different because expectations are higher, when teams face O’Dea they expect a tough game, and we as a team have to understand that about every opponent we face,” says senior Jeffery Woods.

O’Dea has always had talent on the team and ever since they’ve brought the momentum before the season ended, they have been successful in the playoffs.

The Irish will play Ferndale in the Tri-cities. Ferndale has a 19-4 record, but the Irish don’t see that as an issue.

“We all have a goal as a team and we have more determination with the higher expectations,” said Woods.
