The Irish run hard for a second-place performance.
SEATTLE- Last night, the Irish had a cross country meet at their home field of Lower Woodland. They could not have asked for better weather as it was 63 degrees out with crisp autumn air.
The meet last night was an impressive victory for Metro League front runners, Seattle Prep. Prep runner’s where the first 7 runners to finish the race, Sweeping the competition.
The Irish finished second last night as they keep up their top tear form that they have had all year. The team seemed very excited about their chances this season. The team is looking to do something they have not done in a while, win Metros.
“Prep will probably win Metros, but we are going to try.” Henry wing said following their loss last night.
Prep year in year out produce some of the top runners in the league and this year is no different. Prep is favored to win metros this year and will need to keep up the level they are at right now to win the League.
The Irish had an upper hand last night as they practice at Lower Woodland, so they surely know the terrain well. The course is known for being very vertical. This demands the runners to know when to push and when to take it easy.
The top runner last night for the Irish was junior, Simon Olech. He crossed the line in the lop ten and helped the Irish take second place.
It appears if there is a year for the Irish to make a Run at metros, it’s this year. Bishop Blanchet is not bringing bac a very strong team this year so that will surlily help them in their path. to make it worse for Blanchet there two top runners are both out for the year having compound fractures. That means that all that’s left Is longtime rival Seattle Prep.
The boys hope to keep up their hot start to the season as they keep running this year. There next meet is at the boys only away meet this season at Lakewood Highschool in Arlington on the 8th of October
