The O'Dea Fighting Irish and Thier Run to A State Tittle.

The O’Dea Fighting Irish varsity basketball team has come a long way as they begin their postseason run. The Fighting Irish did well in the regular season as the they held a 11-3 record through the metro league.

The Fighting Irish 3 losses in the metro league were Garfield and Eastside Catholic. The Irish ended their regular season with a loss to Garfield, following that they went into playoffs with a loss to Rainier Beach.

Then went on to play Garfield once again and lost again to them. Now the Irish were in a hole with a three-game losing streak. O’Dea had to make some changes quickly or else their season could be done!

After the three-game losing streak, the team came together and said losing is not an option from here on out. The game to come up next was against a 16-0 record against Nathan Hale and the Irish hale no justice against them as the crushed them and secured their first win in the playoffs.

For the second time the Fighting Irish would go on to play Rainier Beach again in the playoffs and this time the Irish were not going to back down and battled all four quarters to get the win.

The Fighting Irish have a mentality to where they cannot lose once again. Therefore, the Irish are keeping that mindset as they go on to play Bellevue High School 2/16 at 5 pm and continue their run in the postseason.
