Updated: Apr 5, 2023

SEATTLE- The O'Dea Fighting Irish lacrosse team are back on track after their easy win against 4A Kennedy Catholic 21-1.

The team was without senior star attacker Ethan Linsay, due to injury. But even without him the Irish controlled the game from start to finish.

5 players scored two goals each including Dylan Pignotti, Grayson Bromfield, Dylan Smith, Ben Smoltz, Owen Brustkern with 11 other players scoring 1 goal each.

This win will wash the bad taste from there mouth because of there overtime defeat against Seattle Prep a day ago.

It’s hard to swallow an overtime defeat against anyone especially if it’s the team rivals.

After the defeat the team knew they needed to respond.

“It starts with our first practice back after the game today. We need to come out wanting to prove who we are and what we can do,” said Dylan Pignotti

With the Irish creating a big lead in the first half it gave the coaches and the fans a glance of what the future will hold for the Irish.

“Most of the varsity team only played in the first half. We were able to create a big enough of a lead to put in the JV team early.”

With the team’s performance last night, it surely pleased head coach Will Snider.

“We did a good job of moving the ball around all game and did a good job controlling possession.”

Next up for the Irish will be against Bishop Gorman High School, a team from Las Vegas, on April 1st at Islander Middle School.

The Irish will hope to get another win and stretch their record to 6-1.
