The O’Dea Tennis Team is Back and Ready to Take on the Metro League Again
SEATTLE- The Metro League is filled with talent and lots of determined players but only one team can win it all in the very end.
Senior Jack Nishimoto has already planned his next move against his upcoming matches and knows what each team will bring to the table.
“The teams to watch out for are definitely Lakeside and another one are Roosevelt. We had a bad loss against Roosevelt which really hurt us but right now we just have to focus on the next match” said Nishimoto.
Currently the Irish have four matches left in the regular season and are competing at a high level until the end and want to end on a high note.
The Irish will be facing these four teams before they close out the regular season: Seattle Prep, Lakeside, Roosevelt, and Bishop Blanchet.
“Lakeside will be a very tough match because we haven't played them and from what I've heard they have some really elite tennis players, “says Nishimoto.
O’Dea has had a lot of changes in their coaching staff for the tennis program. An example is that the O’Dea tennis team has seen 3 different coaches in 3 years. O’Dea has still managed to build around new players and mentor them and train them into becoming an elite tennis players.
“Since Coach Neri has been here he has really helped me improve my skills the most because he has had so much experience being a trainer for other people so I’m very grateful he’s here to coach our team,” says Nishimoto.
With the Coaches' help, the Irish have been able to build up the key factors of what an experienced tennis player has and now they are competing against the Metro League with a shot to take it all.
The Irish will have a match against Roosevelt Highschool at 3:30 pm on Tuesday, April 18th at Lower Woodland
