you made the right decision.

Dear Dylan, I know you are thinking about if you should continue it out at Lincoln high school, a school that you deep down know would not be a good place for you to thrive. Or should you leave Lincoln and all your friends to go somewhere that you will be able to succeed. I know how hard of a decision it was for you and I’m here to tell you made the right choice. O’Dea is more fun and enjoyable than you could ever know. You will meet new people from more backgrounds that you would have never gotten the chance of meeting at Lincoln. At first, O’Dea will seam isolating. You won’t know a lot of people except your two childhood best friend Caleb and Wyatt. You will reconnect with them and your friendship with the two will be better than it ever was when you where little.

I know you are thinking about how you love the Lincoln lacrosse team. Your best friend Costin and Leo play on it and you three had an amazing year together. But the O’Dea lacrosse team and the people on it will make you into a better player, and a better person. The team will be so much better and have such a better community to it.

In your first year at the school, you will learn what the school means and how it works. You will learn about the brotherhood of O’Dea and what it means as a community. The year will go by quick and you will feel like you just understood what O’Dea and brotherhood is about as the school year ends.

The lacrosse team won state and I know you fell like you did not contribute to the team having to play on JV and that will frustrate you. Your junior year, you will understand that playing JV made you into a amazing player and made you so much better. You were able to play almost every minute of every game and because of that. You will get a lot lot better. You will start taking lacrosse a lot more seriously and it will take up a lot more of your time.

Your junior year, you will start to grow up and act like a true O’Dea gentleman. You don’t know what that means right now and that’s ok. I still don’t fully know. But because of this, you will start to grow up into a better person.

Don’t worry, you are still good friends with all the kids you feared leaving. They still like you and were never mad at you for leaving. They will understand why you left and how it was best for you.

My advice for you as you start at odea, is to be open to everyone. People at O’Dea come from all walks of life and that’s what makes the school so great. You will connect and create great friendships with people you would have never thought to be friends with.

So right now, as you are thinking about if you are making the right chose leaving Lincoln, I’m here to tell you that you did. O’Dea will mold you into a better person than you would ever know.
