Seniors Delight on Senior Night, O’Dea Dominates Garfield and Ballard By Max Valladares

SEATTLE- O’Dea Wrestling secured two decisive victories on Wednesday night against the Garfield Bulldogs and the Ballard Beavers, winning their meets 75-0 and 72-12 respectively. Asserting dominance over their Metro League foes.
Leading the way were O’Dea’s seniors, who capped off a night that started with a celebration for them with convincing wins. Senior Wrestler Mason Flaat managed to pin his opponent in a mere 26 seconds, showing no mercy as he flipped him and had him on the mat within 20 seconds.
In their second to last match before the Metro League Championship O’Dea made sure to leave no doubt out on the mats, continuing a run of dominance that has gone on all year. All 7 seniors came out to the meet, and all 7 were certain to be proud of the way that Senior Night went, and the performance that the team put on.
“We really had a good meet overall,” said Haralson. “We started and finished super strong.”
O’Dea now looks to keep their momentum going into the rest of the season. They take on Ingraham and Lincoln on Monday and then have the Metro League tournament on February 4th and 5th. This is swiftly followed by regionals the weekend after, and the State Meet immediately after that.
Be sure to tune in to the Livestream on YouTube, as the meets will not be open to the general public, but will all be streamed live on the O’Dea Highschool YouTube channel in their entirety.
