The Fighting Irish Come in Second Place Behind Seattle Prep in the Metro Championship
SEATTLE- The Fighting Irish golf team came in second place in the Metro Championship behind Seattle Prep only losing by a close 4 points. This was the second time that the golf team has faced off against Seattle Prep. The first time they faced Seattle Prep, the Irish won 142 to 130.
The match was played at the Jefferson Golf Course which is the home course for the O'Dea Fighting Irish. This home course advantage allowed Brady Foster and senior captain Joe Githens to be the leaders in this match. Foster would go on to shoot a 70 on the day and Githens would shoot a 75.
Githens says, "We didn’t play as good as we could have, but we have another chance to perform well at Districts."
This second place finish in the Metro Championship helped the golf team to advance to Districts which will be held at the Riverbend Golf Course on October 25.
