The Irish Take the Win Against the Roughriders



SEATTLE- On March 28th, the O'Dea Fighting Irish took the win against the Roosevelt Roughriders in a 4-2 game. Senior Joe Githens said, "Coming off of the win against Peninsula we were feeling good. The offense was good and out pitching was great." The Irish would start off the night strong with 2 runs scoring in the 1st inning. Sophomore Isaiah Nolan would score off of Senior Joe Githens single. Junior JJ Abner scored off of Sophomore Davis Downers sacrificed fly. Moving into the 2nd inning Sophomore Jefferey Woods scored off of Abner's single. The last run for the Irish would come in the 3rd inning from Senior Declan Brown scoring off of Senior Richard Barkley's single. The Irish's defense was strong as well. Senior Pitcher Simon Adams would start the game and would have 4 strikeouts, no hits, 2 earned runs in the 5th inning and would get pulled in the 5th. Sophomore Pitcher Patrick Galvin came in to close the game in the 6th inning and had 1 walk, 4 strikeouts, gave up 1 hit and no earned runs. A very strong game from the Irish.
