The O'Dea Swim Team Once Again Has High Expectations for their Season
Updated: Dec 6, 2022
After having a successful season last year, the swim team has high expectations and will strive again for a state title. For the past couple of years, the O’Dea swim team has been very successful being led by coach Tom Schutte, and this year they work for another memorable season.
Last year the O’Dea swim team placed 2nd in the Metro League and 5th in Districts and hopes to take the Metro League title once again this year. The O’Dea swim team made an impressive run in for the state title and placed 9th in state.
Standout senior swimmer Joey Souza is taking up a significant leadership role to lead the team and expects to exceed expectations for the upcoming season.
“One spot of improvement I believe is a larger diving team, that’ll offer up more points at our meets,” said Souza.
O’Dea’s swim team is projected to be one of the best teams in the Metro League because of the successful reputation the program has built over the past years. The competition will still be difficult, but Souza thinks the team is well-prepared.
“I expect constant improvement and hard work from all my teammates, and a solid, successful season this year,” says Souza.
The season begins on November 14th, and they will face Bishop Blanchet at Evans Pool.
